They say “Home is not a place… it’s a feeling“. Never before has this been truer than when we photographed this stylish Scandinavian-inspired home – it sure gave us alllllllll the feels! Nestled in a tranquil road in the leafy Southern Suburb town of Claremont, Cape Town, this gorgeous home is a true representation of all the love, pride and attention to detail that was poured into the renovation project. What is obvious from the photos is that this home is packed with panache and understated oomph. What is possibly not as clear is the meticulous consideration that was devoted to this family’s functionality and the result is an outstanding layout that is perfectly designed for optimum flow through their daily routines.
Happily inhabiting this modern tour de force are Chad, Hayley and their three adorable children. For this close-knit family of five, creating communal spaces where natural interactions can flourish was paramount in the design. A key example would be their shared workspace, complete with a custom-built storage unit housing individual charging stations for each family member (yes, you are allowed to be just a smidgen jealous). Chad and Hayley are ‘foodies’, so it’s no surprise that the absolute Showstopper is their kitchen. It’s got a coffee station, a baking station… hell, it’s even got a family eating station! And with the main chef of the house being Chad, this Cook’s Paradise has foregone the traditional girly feel for a slightly edgier, more masculine appeal. So while Chad was busy creating masterpieces in the kitchen, Hayley was free to put her own talents to use in creating this masterpiece home. And we are nothing short of grateful for the tasty visual feast! Aren’t you?
